Chambre d'Olivier
Many
of our gîte guests have had one final wish on leaving
this lovely place -"if only we could come for a long
weekend, a few days, a mid-week break" ... So our
newly-created guest room - Chambre d'Olivier,
makes that short break possible.
Although
part of the main house, our guest room is completely self-contained
with independent access by way of ancient stone steps from
the courtyard. Furnished to the same high standard as
the gîtes with ensuite shower room, it has all the charming
touches our guests have come to expect - superbly comfortable
queen size wrought-iron frame bed, ceiling fan for the hotter
months, built-in wardrobe cupboard, tea and coffee-making
facilities, plenty of good books, hairdryer, bath robes, pool
towels - all provided for your comfort - plus a spectacular
view up the hill to the village of Lussan from the bed!
And, of course, the heated pool is available for your enjoyment.
For breakfast,
enjoy freshly-baked baguettes, home-made preserves and fruit
in season outside on the terrace surrounded by the scent of
jasmine, roses and honeysuckle, or under the willow tree beside
the pond when it is really hot. In the colder months
take breakfast in front of a log fire in our kitchen.
Or, if you feel like being totally lazy, ask nicely and we
might deliver breakfast to your room! As well as the
locally-baked delicious bread and pastries, guests can request
organic eggs from our flock of rare breed hens.
A
magnificent salon within our main house is available for guests
staying in Chambre d'Olivier. Or curl up with a good
book on a hot day on the chaise under the weeping willow and
listen to the soporific sound of cascading water. The lovely
gardens are there for all our guests to enjoy.
And in
the evening there are plenty of good places to eat close by.
Or why not treat yourselves and join us for a typically
Provençal table d'hôte supper and sample
an abundance of wonderful fresh food and wine - all of it
grown locally and organic wherever possible.
The Chambre
d'Olivier can be rented with either of the gites
to give additional accommodation. Just a few steps down
from the private terrace of le Murier, it is ideally suited
to a family with older children or two couples holidaying
together. Taken with both gîtes it makes
it possible to sleep 12 in great comfort.
"A
lovely room in a beautifully and lovingly restored building.
An idyllic place for a wonderfully relaxing holiday."
